ST. DAVID'S CELEBRATION – GWYL DEWI SANT

2001 LUNCHEON AND PROGRAM

UNL East Campus Union, Saturday, March 31, 2001

B y the looks of it EVERYONE had a great time at this years celebration. It probably was one of the most inspiring due to our speaker Lori McAlister who spoke and got the audience a little stired up over the development of a Welsh Heritage Museum and Activity Center in Wymore Nebraska. McAlister said that the only way a project of this magnitude gets off the ground is if everyone participates not just with their hearts but with their pocketbooks.

To give you some idea of the scope of this ambitious product go here.

Naturally everyone enjoys the Te Bach and this year it was fitting being right as one got off the elevator.  Hit the Hundreds of Welsh Cakes!food first!  Fortify for battle. The Welsh cakes were a little larger than we're used to but tastey just the same.  And this gal thought the food was great too, commenting that it made her tummy feel good. It looks like she knows what she's talking about.

The cakes were also available for purchase, so all across the state Welsh attendees even now are settling down to Tea and Cakes.

Celtic Possessions and Welsh goods!T he shopping was supurb once again with genuine articles from Wales.  The jewelry is always a big seller and this years was no exception.  The jewelry is made at a small company in Wales from the area's pewter.  These are small works of art! Tea cloths were a new feature and the literature went well.

This activity is always fun and many find that the best time to buy a genuine Welsh article is when they see it. Only one or two of each item for the most part is available--until next year.
